Silent Calligraphy

On Saturday 1st June 2019, a beautiful early summer’s day, 8 calligraphers from SLLA gather at St George’s Church in Bloomsbury for our second Silent Calligraphy event, organised by Eva Driskell. After the heat and traffic outside, the scribes were happy to be in the coolness offered by the church.

Everyone set up their ‘desk’ and quickly got to work. Not much chatting, but lots of scratching from busy pens as people worked on their travelling book pages or individual projects. Visitors to the church were able to see what was going on but no one disturbed us. A great opportunity to sit and concentrate on one’s calligraphy for a few hours without interruption.

A full report of this event will appear in the next issue of the Inc.

Below is a picture of a previous Silent Calligraphy event on 28 April 2018.
