About this event:
This year's walk on 5th August explored the Barbican Estate, the planned Modernist development in an area of the City of London that was reduced to rubble in the Blitz. Love it or hate it, the Barbican is an important part of the history of the City and stands as a reminder of how architects envisioned urban living in the 1960s and 1970s. Of course, the concrete world of the Barbican was balanced with some traditional City stops on the way there and back!
We will meet for a prompt 6:00pm start in Paternoster Square (by the column), by St Paul's. The walk was about 90 minutes and ended at the west end of Cheapside.
