About this event:
Versals are pen-drawn Roman Capitals built up with separate strokes. In this workshop we will learn/revise the technique used in 9th-11th century manuscripts for drawing these majestic, elegant letters. Alternative round forms will also be covered to broaden our range of letterforms. We will explore changing size, width and slant to bring variety in our work.
Come and find out why these historical letters still look fresh today and how they can be used in cards and to write out your favourite quotations. This first session is ideal preparation for part 2 later in the year.
