Celtic Knotwork Square Patterns 1 with Joy Daniels

Learn how to unravel the intricacies of the Celtic Knot and design your own knotwork pattern. With a few simple rules and a square grid you will discover how to construct the simplest knot and then build on this to make more complicated patterns as the day goes on. Use these patterns with calligraphy, stone carving, lino cuts, stencils, embroidery, knitting etc., or just on their own as a beautiful design.

"Who would have thought that a sheet covered in lines and dots could produce such intricate flowing twists and turns? The variations are limitless and once you get going, it's quite compelling. Joy patiently demonstrated each stage and took us through the steps in a logical way, so that it all began to make sense and we could begin to imagine extending the designs to suit ourselves. What an achievement, it opened the door to a whole new world of pattern making."
